This page is intended to serve as a resource center for coaches and personal trainers. This page is currently still under construction but is intended to provide you with the most current research related to Anterior Cruciate Ligament, low back and lower extremity injuries in female athletes. This page will be dedicated to providing you with information about the Accelerated Conditioning and Learning (A.C.L.) Injury Prevention Program, an evidence based exercise program developed to improve athletic performance and prevent ACL and other LE injuries as well as articles written on topics of injury prevention, and training and performance enhancement programs and education provided by one of the leaders in strength and performance.
Did you know that females injury their ACLs 3 to 8 times more frequently than males? Did you know that 70% of those injuries are considered non-contact injuries (meaning occur without collision or trauma from another player)? Did you know that most occur from jump/stops or rapidly changing of direction? So why is this the case? That is exactly the question we try to answer. For a more in-depth look at the research as it relates to female athletes please refer to the ACL Prevention Program section of our site. It is this education that is vital to our understanding of the complexity of the issues as it relates to female athletes and more importantly how to avoid these injuries.
In the parent and athlete section, we refer to a series of 5 tests which you can use to assess your athlete and determine whether or not they are at risk for a low extremity or ACL injury. Coming soon will be continuing education courses specifically for coaches and athletes on a variety of subjects including sports performance, injury prevention, concussion management, etc. that you can use to meet your CEU requirements.
Based on the most current research, our expert and a leading authority in strength training and performance enhancement will provide you with training programs for your male and female athletes. Programs designed not only to improve athletic performance on the field but intended to keep your players on the field.
